Been awhile

It's been awhile since my last blog, Ive been really busy with DJing and some personal stuff, but things are starting to clear up, and i'll start posting more again now :) so how was everyones Christmas and new years?
I went to Universal and Islands of adventure in orlando for a few days last week. It was a ton of fun, the harry potter world is amazing. The butter beer is surprisingly really good. If you havn't been I suggest making a plan to go. It is worth it. I couldn't believe how many people were there just for the Harry Potter world. The wait time for the main ride Harry Potter and the forbidden journey was 95 Minutes. Great ride though, and while your waiting you walk through the castle. The paintings talk, and the Sorting hat is there. It is a sight to see.

Just woke up from the craziest night ever

Well last night was my first gig at the Club I work for now. I wasn't informed that a famous local DJ was playing that night until I get there, and I was opening for him. I was told to be on from 9:30 until 11 PM. I arrived at 6 PM and got set up, helped check the lights, do sound, and just get everything in place. We finished around 7:30, I decided to check outside, and there was a huge line! About 300 to 400 people in line, and I was ecstatic. Of course I was also nervous as well. I walked behind the stage and sat down, and just waited. I talked to the DJ on tour and we had a few laughs and he helped get me ready. Finally I was up, it was about 9:25. Doors open at 9:30. I was instructed to bring a pre-recorded Mix that was close to 15 Minutes. I decided to play my Happy Hardcore mix (below in the other blog post, I added two more songs to make the length) and then after I started it, to walk off stage. People started to walk in and crowd the place. At 9:45ish the lights went out and it got quiet. I was standing on the side of the stage waiting for my cue to go on. A deep voice then started. " Welcome to the factory" The stage manager flagged me on, I walked up and got my headphones on. I hit a switch to notify the light crew that I was ready. Lights came on, the crowd yelled, and I dropped the beat. I got to play for an extra 30 minutes because the headliner and his crew weren't all ready yet. ( Some of them showed up late) I got pictures, a lot. I uploaded a few to my computer, but I still got a good number to upload. The whole night was insane, I had people jumping and yelling. It was such an amazing feeling. I gave my card to the Headliner DJ, and  I also go back to the club tomorrow night and mix as well.  I made $550 and had the time of my life. I love my job.

Here are a few pics from last night:

The crowd size (There is a 2nd floor as well)

DJing

I was asked to post about Djing and my decks, so here it is:

I got into Djing when I was 14, I saw a youtube video of a program called Virtual DJ, and I thought "hey" that's pretty cool, so I gave it a shot and loved it. I used Virtual DJ for about a year and a half, and I new I wanted to get serious about this. I bought a Numark Mixdeck, which is relatively cheap ($600) for two decks and a mixer. I used that for a year, it was decent but not the best. I did my first gig with this deck, it was a small house party. I rented speakers, and tow lights. That night I spent for the rentals $105, and I was paid $350, so I was relatively happy. After that, I decided it was time to step up. I bought  Two Pioneer Decks ($650 each) and a Mixer ($1699). After this I purchased a light system. ($1250) after spending all this money, I knew I had to start making profit. I started posting flyers, and ads on websites. I got contacted and did a few parties here and there, a high school dance, and a couple weddings. I still wanted to get bigger though. I made a mix tape, and sent it to radio stations around my county, and finally got one to let me have a 45 minute spot, on a Friday. After this I was contacted by a local club and they offered me to do a trial night this Saturday. If I do well, I could possibly have a weekend job with them. It's a Two and a half hour spot so Ive been practicing nonstop, and I am really nervous, all and all I hope it turns out well. So if your interested in Djing or want to give it a shot, try it out on the computer first before you go spend money on a deck. The best program I suggest is Virtual DJ. If you need any help at all or have any questions, post a comment and I'll be gladly to help.

Tire time

So I was driving, and and someone flagged me down saying a I had a flat, I noticed a slight change in driving but thought nothing of it, I'm out my house now and the tire is completely flat, I'm trying to learn how to change a tire now. I got to meet my sister in 30 minutes! Let's hope I can get the spare on by then! Anyone ever have a tire problem? or a funny story? Any tips on changing a tire would also help!

Hey guys

Ive just started blogging and enjoy it, I recently started mixing with my new Pioneer decks, who I have to say are great for the price I payed, I currently do small parties, and events. Its a good hobby to do in spare time, I mix music and also produce! My girlfriend recently broke up with me after a year and a half, its been tough but I guess its safe to say nothing lasts forever... So I suggest look at what you got in life now and make the best of it, it might not always be around...
hey guys how is everyone, just wanted to say hey!
